Sparring & backup
Do you have an urgent question about a unit, a fault code or a start-up? Give us a call — we are usually ready for a quick sparring over the phone. Many problems can be solved or narrowed down in a conversation without anyone having to be dispatched, and even if we cannot solve it over the phone alone, we have at least circled the problem before we dig into it.
We are happy to spar with your people — maintenance technicians, production staff and other electronics enthusiasts alike. If you have a unit with a battery but are nervous about replacing it, we are ready to assist and advise so that the program and parameters don't get lost along the way.
PLC backups
Have you remembered to back up your parameters and PLC program? In the event of a breakdown, there is a risk that parameters or the PLC program are lost — and without a backup, getting your machine running again can be a slow and expensive affair. Sometimes a costly retrofit is necessary if the units are obsolete or the machine builder closed down long ago.
Contact us, and we will look into whether a backup of your units can be secured. When we repair or renovate units, we always aim to secure a backup of your parameters and programs so that you are well protected in the future.
Battery replacement
Remember to replace backup batteries within the machine builder's recommendations — and at the very least every 2 years. An expired battery can silently mean that task data and parameters disappear at the first power failure.
Before you disconnect! Always check for batteries and their voltage before disconnecting units with batteries attached. In doubt, give us a call — we will guide you safely through it.
